Pathology Services, an Interpath Laboratory partner, invites you to join our team in North Platte, NE!
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Customer Service Representative with excellent people skills. Ideal candidates will have a collaborative spirit and a commitment to supporting both our patients and our team’s goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Customer Service: Answer phones, assist patients, and ensure a positive experience.
- Specimen Handling: Retrieve blood samples (via venipuncture) and other specimens, process, and prepare for lab testing, following all protocols.
- Data Management: Verify and enter specimen and patient information accurately.
- Compliance: Follow HIPAA, Medicare rules, safety protocols, and participate in quality assurance.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform minimal billing, data entry, and use basic computer skills.
- Flexibility: Cover shifts across different sites to ensure smooth operations.
Pay: Starts at $15 per hour depending on experience
Schedule:
- Enjoy a 4-day workweek with 9-hour shifts, including a Saturday rotation.
- For those seeking additional hours, the schedule can be adjusted to 4.5 days per week.
Location: 1931 W A St.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required (will train)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Candidates with a demonstrated history of consistent employment, marked by continuity and minimal career gaps, will be strongly preferred

General Physical Requirements
- Laboratory setting includes numerous automated machines that make humming and beeping sounds.
- High level of staff activity and interaction in relatively close proximity.
- Must be able to hear in order to monitor alarms and respond to any safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples.
- Wearing appropriate protective gear: Lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield.
- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, crawl, bend and twist as needed.
- Requires walking on non-level surfaces, inside and outside the office, throughout the day.
- Frequent bending and stooping.
- Typically stands for extended period of times.
- Ability to work long hours, and overtime, as needed.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds.
OSHA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
