Job Details
Job Title: Data Modeler
Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid 50%)
Duration: 27 Months
Key Responsibilities:
- Review business and technical documentation to understand data and data modeling requirements.
- Design and develop entity relational diagrams, logical and physical data models, and data transformation solutions.
- Work closely with Business SMEs, Analysts, and Technical teams to align data models with business needs.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries and data lineage.
- Implement data quality monitoring and work on data security and governance strategies.
- Optimize database performance through SQL tuning and indexing strategies.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 4 7 years of experience as a Developer.
- 7 years of hands-on experience in designing relational data models in third normal form (3NF).
- 7 years of experience using data modeling software (e.g., Erwin Data Modeler) for designing, reverse engineering, and reconciling data models.
Desirable Qualifications (Must meet at least 7 of 10):
- Experience designing data models for migration, conversion, or consolidation projects.
- Experience with legacy mainframe systems and modern RDBMS (e.g., Oracle).
- Strong PL/SQL development and performance tuning experience.
- Expertise in metadata cataloging, data governance, and data security principles.
- Knowledge of health and human service programs (e.g., SNAP, HEAP, TANF).
