Back Parts Counter

Interstate Power System’s is looking for a Back Parts Counter Representative for our Lakeville, Minnesota location.

As a Back Parts Counter Representative, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers and technicians with their heavy-duty truck and equipment parts needs. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, identifying, and locating the correct parts, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch service to our valued customers.

Pay Range $32.00 to $36.00 per hour, D.O.E

Scheduled Shift- Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm

Parts Counter Representative Duties

• Research, price, and purchase parts for on-highway diesel trucks, off-highway equipment, and trailers.
• Process requisitions, work orders, and material requests; distribute items to technicians as needed.
• Use computerized inventory systems to locate parts and verify availability.
• Maintain a clean, organized parts counter and work area.
• Collaborate with technicians to identify and order required parts.
• Communicate with vendors to source parts.
• Provide technicians and service advisors with accurate lead times for parts.
• Track orders and continuously update the service department on part status.
  
  

Parts Counter Representative Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, preferably in automotive or heavy-duty equipment parts sales.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using computerized inventory systems and basic computer applications.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as necessary.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings, as needed.
  
  

Parts Counter Representative Qualities

• Experience working with automotive or heavy equipment parts and accessories.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment systems and components.
• Familiarity with automotive parts cataloging systems (e.g., Electronic Parts Catalog).
• Prior experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
