GIS Analyst/Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spatial data analysis and create high-quality maps and visualizations.
  • Develop, test, and maintain GIS applications, scripts, and tools using programming languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide GIS support for various projects and initiatives.
  • Perform geoprocessing tasks, including data conversion, spatial analysis, and data integration.
  • Create and maintain documentation for GIS processes, applications, and tools.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on GIS software and applications.
  • Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in GIS analysis and application development.
  • Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and other related tools.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with GIS web development using frameworks such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Esri's ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases and data management techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions and services.
  • Experience with ESRI products including ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and applications.
  • Professional certifications, such as Esri Technical Certification or GISP (GIS Certification Institute).
