Interstate is seeking a Business Development Manager (International Cargo & Freight) to join our team! This individual will be responsible for expanding our global reach, identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
Position includes a base salary and commission. Schedule is Mon-Fri during daytime hours; may include weekday evenings and some weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for international freight and cargo services
- Identify and target potential clients in the global market for freight and cargo services
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of leads through networking, cold calling, and referrals
- Present our services to clients, emphasizing the benefits and competitive advantages
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and service agreements with clients and vendors
- Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries promptly
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Prepare and deliver sales reports and forecasts to management
- Identify potential clients, markets, and industry trends to drive growth, including analyze market data and competitor activities to inform decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction
- Monitor industry regulations and compliance requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field preferred.
- Minimum four to six years of experience in sales as an individual contributor; Background in logistics, supply chain management, and business development preferred.
- Proven track record in business development within the freight and cargo industry
- Strong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, and supply chain logistics
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (CRM, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to travel as needed
