Job Summary & Essential Functions
Lead Engineering Services departments for the assigned location(s). Support Test, Component Documentation Control and future related department functions by providing guidance and support to these departments. Technical assistance to all engineering departments with software, hardware, and procedures. Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals for the departments.
- Ensure the necessary coordination and daily direction is given to the test, component, and daily documentation control department duties
- Ensure all processes and products meet industry and customer quality standards

Perform analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products; develop testing procedures and fixtures as required:
- Develop test procedures, equipment and fixturing design responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and develop testing procedures
- Repair and maintenance of test fixtures
- Provide leadership for and development of direct reports by establishing priorities, accountabilities and allocating resources: guiding achievement of performance measures
- Install test software, programming software and repair test PCs
- Repair and troubleshoot test PCs
- Assist Production with test needs and troubleshooting PCA down to the component
- Lead Engineers and technicians working with components and understanding items on datasheets for analog and digital parts
- Provide input for recruiting, selection, compensation, promotions, disciplinary actions, terminations, and transfers
- Provide leadership for and development of direct reports by establishing priorities, accountabilities and allocating resources: guiding achievement of performance measures
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced ability reading schematics and wiring diagrams
- Intermediate ability in schematic capture and electrical design
- Advanced knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits and theory
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems
- Advanced knowledge using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, 4wire LCR meters etcetera
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot down to the component level for both analog, digital, and embedded circuits/systems
- Advanced technical and documentation skills
- Experience working with using an ERP system working BOMs, and other configuration management duties
- Working knowledge of TCP and UPD networks and ability to support a VLAN
- Proficient with Solid Works and AutoCAD and/or other drafting applications
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking technologies, including Ethernet and TCP/IP
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot PC hardware
- Soldering skills, rework with through-hole and SMT components
- Advanced ability to build prototypes and wire systems
- Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
- Ability to negotiate and manage conflict tactfully and professionally
- Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
- Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive relevant job experience in field and minimum of 3 years experience in leadership or supervision
- Previous experience with technical writing
- Previous experience in an ISO environment
