The MSO Operations Manager is responsible for assisting Vice President - Physician Solutions in helping medical practices operate efficiently under value-based care methodologies and for the development and implementation of all MSO medical practice support services. The MSO Operations Manager will play a leadership role in the development of an integrated physician value care network. The role requires a seasoned administrative executive familiar with the complexities of nephrology practices.
The work you will do:
- Manage and support the MSO operational infrastructure, with ongoing focus on organizational effectiveness, continued integration with physician partners; focusing on how we enhance the ability to manage quality, utilization, and the cost-of-care and In conjunction with the VP Physician Solutions, continue development and implementation of IWH MSO program.
- Work with Kidney Care Entity practices, as identified by Fresenius Health Partners, to identify gaps and provide recommendations to be successful in value-based care reimbursement models.
- Participate in both internal and external meetings focusing on Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting performance and provide guidance as a subject matter expert in nephrology practice operations; and Collaborate and strategize, as nephrology practice subject matter expert, with the Program Management team as they operationalize and implement the Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting program.
- Assist in the development of a well thought out and detailed process improvement plan that medical practices partnering with FHP can implement and follow.
- Leads operational efforts through subordinates to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within the assigned business unit(s).
- Manages and oversees the broad activities of the MSO through the interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures relevant to the assigned functional area(s).
- Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee relations issues.
- Collaborates with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
- Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge of the business and/or industry with an emphasis on providing strategic solutions to a specific business line and/or division. Has broad decision-making authority within the functional areas.
- Participates in the development of business unit- or division-wide strategies including tactical administrative or operational policies and resource allocation decisions to ensure the achievement of objectives.
- Establishes protocols in the facilitation of strategic interdepartmental cooperation, motivating development of new tools and methods for dealing with crisis situations.
- Oversees focused operations within the MSO. May manage multiple departments within the MSO that may impact operations.
- Provides more of a support function. Directs and controls the activities of a complete functional area through multiple levels of management. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities and approving changes to methods and practices.
- Interacts with all levels of the organization to manage the business and regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.
- Serves as a representative of the organization to external customers. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve highly visible activities which may include speaking to or negotiating with customers, influencing other executives and/or academics, and representing the organization on matters of great significance.
- May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of exempt and non-exempt staff.
The skills and qualifications you need:
- 5 years' experience in a management level role within a medical practice preferably within a nephrology practice.
- 3 years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience of Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- This position requires approximately 30% to 40% travel.
