JOB DESCRIPTION:

Notes/keys:

• Specifically doing testing with Xray on Smart TV/ IPTV applications.
• There is flex on the smart tv exposure but if they have it, they move to the top of the list.
• Windows/Linux environment
• Test management/ testing with Xray
• Jira tools
• API testing
• Postman testing
• Automation testing – done through Xray. (please don’t flood me with Selenium people)

An ideal candidate, in addition to demonstrating solid technical competence and a mastery of software testing skills, understands how the technical and functional aspects of a product impact a project’s business requirements. They are customer-focused, and in addition to entering bug reports, can communicate with product and project managers about user experience, risk analysis, and other non-technical aspects of the product.

Candidates should demonstrate that they can think on their feet and bring their own ideas and creativity to their work; they are self-motivated to complete testing in a timely way; they recommend improvements to processes; they show an ability to dive deep and gain in-depth understanding of complex products and benefit the entire team through their ideas and experience.

Responsibilities

·Create and manage test cases with Atlassian Xray test management tool

·Work in-office OR work from-home, a hybrid model, as mutually agreed, with a small, tight-knit team of experienced test engineers.

·Work closely with development engineers to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.

·Understand product requirements: review documentation, ask probing questions of product owners, formulate test plans, and estimate test times.

·Build test environments, write automated tests, plan and execute manual tests, and report test results in a timely way.

Basic Requirements:

·BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

·2 years of practical experience using Linux-based and/or Windows-based systems (command line competence)

Preferred Qualifications:

·Practical experience with Atlassian Xray test management tool

·Practical experience with Jira project management tool

·Practical experience in Linux, Windows, and/or Mac environments

·Practical experience in SmartTV environments, such as LGTV and Samsung models..

·Experience with user interface automation tools, such as Selenium, Katalon Studio, etc.

·Experience with backend test tools, such as Jmeter, Postman, etc.

·Proficient writing tests in Java, Python, Bash, or similar.

·Experience testing APIs

·Understanding of automation frameworks

·Firm grasp of TCP/IP networking concepts and practice

·Familiarity with PC and server hardware

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·Experience working with both local and remote teams

·Experience with broadcast, streaming, or on-demand media systems
