Job description:
Intri-Cut Tool Company is seeking a hardworking and reliable CNC Programmer and Setup/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming with the use of CAD/CAM software, setting up, and running CNC milling and turning machines. You will work closely with our CNC manufacturing team to ensure quality parts are being made promptly.
To succeed in this position, you will need to be detailed and hardworking, demonstrate a strong working knowledge of CNC principles, pay close attention to details, and follow instructions accurately.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to develop CNC programs for machining operations.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and G-code programming language to execute machining sequences.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including vertical milling machines, lathes, and machining centers.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters based on job requirements and material specifications.
- Load and unload workpieces onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to machining parameters as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with CNC manufacturing team to optimize CNC programs and machining processes.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Document CNC programs, machine settings, tooling changes, and production activities.
- Ensure machine schedule is being maintained.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1-3 years as CNC Machinist
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or certification in machining or CNC programming is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer and Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Tooling Knowledge and Application (Speeds & Feeds)
- Read and understand setup sheets and part prints
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including setup, operation, and tooling selection.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent attention to detail and precision, with the ability to maintain tight tolerances.
