Job Details
Software focus:
- Experience with embedded system development
- Firmware development for small microcontrollers such as STM32
- Kernel/driver development skills on Linux-based embedded systems
- Platform firmware experience, e.g. UEFI, CoreBoot
- Experience with ARM TrustZone and TEEs such as OpTEE a plus
- Knowledge of C/C , Python and Bash scripting
- Board bringup and testing
- Nice to have: Knowledge of Verilog and experience with FPGA development
- Nice to have: Basic soldering and rework skills
Hardware focus:
- Strong practical and theoretical understanding of EE fundamentals
- Experience with digital and analog circuit design
- Proficiency in schematics design and PCB layout
- Experience with cable assembly and manufacturing
- Strong analytical problem solving skills to diagnose issues at the intersection of hardware and software
- Experience with platform firmware (e.g. UEFI, CoreBoot) a plus
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies
- Good soldering and rework skills
Primary Duties
- Practical and theoretical understanding of EE fundamentals
- Ability to read schematics and component data sheets
- Strong analytical problem solving skills to diagnose issues at the intersection of hardware and software
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, electrical)
- Excellent communication skills when reporting issues to internal teams and external vendors
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies
- Basic soldering and rework skills, ability to build and deploy forward-looking prototypes
Secondary Duties
- Experience with PCB fabrication and assembly process, component selection and logistics
- Proficiency in schematics design and PCB layout
- Experience with cable assembly and manufacturing
- Experience with UART, I2C, SPI and USB interfaces
- Troubleshooting skills on Linux-based embedded systems
