Role: Program/Project Manager Infrastructure Risk

Location: Alpharetta, GA 3 days in the office (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday)

Duration: 12 month contract

Manager Notes: Sr Project/Program Manager highly visible risk projects, not for a generic Project Manager Managing tech risk projects in large corp, onsite role 3 days/week, collaboration in person is important

Projects: technology risk oriented, regulators or audit, technology risks, had exp in finance and risk initiatives they will fit well

Financial risk related, COBIT, ITIL, Data security, SDLC (changes in infrastructure/app dev)

Preference to finance industry preferred but not required, must have COBIT, ITIL, security

No third-party risk management, platform and application, infrastructure internal departmental focus primarily on Infrastructure

Infrastructure operations but not bank operations

They represent first line of defense and interact with second line, key partner work up the operational risk order of things communication between level 1 to level 2 are very specific (how/when, etc. to communicate) must have first line of defense

Tools: Excel, PowerPoint for metrics and executive reporting, produce graphs, understand important metrics and craft in Excel and share with leadership team

Infrastructure: security operations projects servers, storage, networks, operating systems, firmware, database instances and connections, database - issues will cross these areas

Not a Cyber Security bullet, could have issue in cyber space, not all risk will be in cyber it is all inclusive with Infrastructure Operations experience with Risk and Cyber experience is a plus, not data breach risks

Experience dealing with Audit is helpful not mandatory, just need to understand financial industry a plus can learn

No MF, will be Windows and Linux and generic network storage experience

Not looking for a technologist, looking for Sr Level Project Manager, technology risk space

Decommission on older tech, rewrite of processes/middleware, any number of ways to remediate risks

Agile knowledge, 10 years with Infrast exp, Degree, PMP a plus

Interview Process: panel interview with 3 of them via Zoom (45 minutes), shortlist will bring top 3 candidates onsite for final screening TBD (interviews will happen right after new year)

Overview:

Morgan Stanley (E*TRADE) Enterprise Computing (EC) is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Project Manager with infrastructure risk experience to join our team in Alpharetta, GA.

EC delivers firm-wide services and platforms including core computing, storage, and application infrastructure.

Your experience with infrastructure technology risk will be demonstrated by the ability to work across multiple technology teams with (1) a collaborative approach, (2) an ability to identify challenges as opportunities, and (3) an ability to provide energy and excitement to coach teams and drive results.

In addition, you should demonstrate a capability to:

Understand descriptions of technology risks identified by other parties (internal and external (i.e. Regulatory, Audit, etc.)

Develop and document project scope, and obtain concurrence from stakeholders, including technical teams, risk partners, and divisional leadership

Develop a detailed project plan, with realistic timeframes and milestones (including meaningful metrics) to address/remediate identified technology risks through implementation of agreed-to products or solutions

Develop and maintain all project documentation and artifacts required for successful delivery of the project, records retention purposes in accordance with organizational policies, and proof of risk mitigation / remediation

Identify, prioritize, and actively manage project risks, issues, and decisions according to impact and probability, and escalate when necessary

Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business

Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for 1-2 major and/or several minor risk initiatives simultaneously

Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives

Report on project success through metrics, test planning and completion, and deployment management activities

Work relationally, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating collaborative teamwork, innovation, and excellence

Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chair the project management team meetings

Engage with Business Aligned Platforms (BAP) risk executives, including first and second line of defense risk functions, as appropriate to ensure deliverables and timing align with the Firm's risk objectives

Adhere to best practices and coordinate implementation of relevant risk management frameworks across several technology aligned risk teams

Serve as key stakeholder and sponsor for a portfolio of risk remediation activities, including leading program efforts and driving requirements to delivery teams

Requirements:

Experience managing mid to large infrastructure projects through the use of Agile/Scrum/Kanban teams

Applied project leadership experience

Strong analytical and communications skills are a must (Note: strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a baseline expectation for this role, including advanced skill in data manipulation using Excel)

The ability to structure and organize complex data and execution efforts

An ability to maintain and sustain a focus on providing great service across our stakeholder groups

A foundational orientation towards servant-leadership

Exposure to risk management for infrastructure environments at an enterprise scale (e.g., IT Security, Cyber Security, Security Operations, Governance)

Previous experience with technology controls programs and risk domains (e.g., change management, SDLC, information security practices, COBIT / ITIL frameworks)

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate requirements effectively and coordinate team discussion

Must be extremely detail-oriented, very organized and value the integrity of the data

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, capability to switch context quickly and work on multiple streams of work concurrently

Ability to build and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and leverage this to achieve work-related objectives

Working knowledge of Operational Risk and associated regulations (e.g., Basel, SOX, OCC)

Qualifications:

10 years of infrastructure (physical/virtual server, storage, database platforms) experience on large projects is required for this role

Bachelor of Science (B.S) Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or MIS, or equivalent experience

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred
