Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Air Export Gateway Manager to lead and oversee our Air Export operations at our Atlanta Gateway. This is a critical leadership role that will support our strategic growth in the Southeast region. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, a passion for freight forwarding, and a drive to grow with the organization.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday to Saturday
This is a critical requirement for the role due to the operational flow and industry demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day functions of the ATL Air Export Gateway.
- Route planning, space allocation, and cargo capacity management.
- Negotiate rates and secure space with airline carriers and ground handlers.
- Coordinate and arrange cargo consolidation schedules.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of air export shipments.
- Supervise and mentor gateway operations staff, including scheduling and performance management.
- Drive operational efficiency, cost reduction, and compliance with TSA, IATA, and our client internal standards.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to align operations with business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners and external vendors.
- Proactively resolve service failures and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Key Qualifications & Preferences:
- Proven leadership in an air export gateway or freight forwarding environment.
- Strong understanding of air freight documentation, consolidations, bookings, and compliance regulations.
- Skilled in handling multiple priorities in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience using industry-related software and systems.
- A book of business or strong airline/carrier relationships will be a significant advantage.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
