SUMMARY
The Safety Specialist supports the company’s safety program, monitors safety reporting services, coordinates safety and OQ training, performs field audits, and other compliance and safety-related tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and implement internal communication initiatives, such as regular and periodic Safety meetings.
• Complete and coordinate safety and Operator Qualifications (OQ) training/orientation of employees. Working with field leadership to identify and improve existing training requirements. Ensuring proper documentation of all safety-related training.
• Assist in completing Pre-Employment, Random, Post-Accident, and Follow-up drug testing per INVACOR’s policies.
• Evaluate, observe, and coach all safety compliance requirements and procedures, including client-based safety requirements.
• Conduct safety audits at Invacor facilities and project sites to ensure safety policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
• Investigate and assist in managing all work-related incidences and injuries; assist and participate in claims management processes (Workers’ compensation and injury, 3rd party property damage, and DOT-related claims.)
• Monitor the status of INVACOR’s safety reporting services such as DOT Safer, ISNET World, Veriforce, Energy WorldNet, etc.. and report issues to management.
• Assist Supervisors in maintaining DOT compliance.
• Maintain a training matrix for all field technicians, Operators, and CDL employees.
• Develop and complete site-specific safety plans.
• Keeping up with applicable OSHA regulations and informing management of future changes.
• Participate in client-required audits.
• Develop a strong working relationship with field supervision and crew leaders to define and promote positive safety behaviors and decisions.
• Network with client personnel and attend required safety councils and committees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 to 5 years of experience in an oil & gas field services or construction safety role
• First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
• High School diploma.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel.
• Demonstrate an attitude of accountability.
• Experience with DOT compliance.
• OSHA 30 Certified Health and Safety Professional preferred.
• NCCER Trainer Certified preferred.
• Energy Worldnet OQ Evaluator preferred.
• Veriforce OQ Evaluator preferred.
• Job location is in Houston, TX or Angleton, TX.
TRAVEL
• Up to 35% local and occasional overnight travel may be required.
