PLC Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for manufacturing and automation processes.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Integrate industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet.
• Perform system testing, debugging, and commissioning of automation equipment.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and programming guides.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
• Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of automation systems to minimize downtime.
• Assist in the integration of motion control systems, servo drives, and robotics where applicable.
• Provide training and technical support to plant operators and maintenance personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial automation.
• Proficiency in PLC programming software such as RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, TIA Portal, and Unity Pro.
• Strong knowledge of industrial sensors, actuators, VFDs, and electrical control systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing automation systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and ladder logic diagrams.
• Understanding of machine safety standards and compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with motion control, servo systems, and robotics.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity best practices.
• Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Ability to lead automation projects from design through implementation.
