The Manufacturing Associate is part of the Manufacturing team, safely operating in the production area with limited supervision.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Works safely and effectively in an industrial team-based environment, being responsible for many items traditionally managed by leadership such as leading safety, managing performance, conducting training, and improvement projects .
· Works unsupervised and makes decisions to safely and effectively operate equipment based on established standard and OSHA practices and at certified associate skill level.
· Maintains frequent and effective communications with facility personnel and leaders, to perform duties (reactive and preventative) efficiently.
· Responsible for the daily operation of manufacturing process equipment, forklifts and other mobile equipment.
· Performs and clean-up of equipment.
· Performs and ensure production of a quality product.
· Problem-solves and troubleshoots reliability issues by proactively identifying areas of improvement, evaluate alternatives, recommend, and implement solutions.
· Completes all required training and maintains certifications as needed.
· Conducts and completes required paperwork and recordkeeping on time.
· Participates in meetings and skill and development training sessions.
· Stays current with personal ongoing development and is willing to mentor other associates in their development.
· Always adheres to company safety standards, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred in the prior 12-month period.
· Actively and always demonstrates teamwork.
· Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Core Practices.
· Promotes IW values and culture within the organization.
· Participates in special projects, as directed, or approved by the General Manager.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Proven ability to communicate with team.
· Fluently speak, read, and write English.
· Proven ability to operate production equipment or ability to learn to do so.
· Experience in manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse OR military environment is considered an asset.
· Industrial Manufacturing experience and Industrial Maintenance Certifications a plus.
· Ability to follow safety requirements.
· Basic skill level with Microsoft Office or ability to learn.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Experience in and/or willingness to work in a Self-Directed/ Multi-Skilled Team environment
· Strong emotional intelligence and humility; ability to manage stress, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
· Ability to work onsite 5 days a week and work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
· Must be available to work evenings/weekend to meet project deadlines.
Physical demands
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50-75% of time with prolonged periods standing at and operating the equipment.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times a day and push a heavy cart.
· Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
· Must be able to identify and understand visual and audio signals.
· Must be able to maneuver small instruments and tools with precision.
· Must be able to be fitted for, and wear, a respirator.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour
