    Job Summary: The School Psychologist provides a full range of psychological services to support the academic and behavioral needs of students in Inver Grove Heights School District. Location to be determined.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    1. Master's degree in School Psychology
    2. A School Psychology license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education.
    3. Experience providing service to persons of diverse cultures, races and socioeconomic backgrounds.
    4. Ability to work efficiently, effectively and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Bilingual in Spanish
    2. Experience working in a school setting or with children ages birth through 21.
    3. Experience identifying students with disabilities.
    4. Experience administering intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior and other normed referenced instruments.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to work cooperatively and congenially with other employees, supervisors, parents and students.
    • Ability to determine, prioritize, schedule and complete complex job assignments and projects without supervision and within the time allocated.
    • Ability to operate independently and effectively while following established procedures and protocols.
    • Ability to anticipate and/or recognize problems and/or complications and to determine and implement practical corrective solutions to problems and issues.
    • Ability to communicate appropriately with individuals regardless of socioeconomic, ethnic or educational status.
    • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills when completing unique or complex job assignments.
    • Ability to determine what is confidential and proprietary information and how to use that information in a proper manner.
    • Ability to communicate positively about the school district at all times.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Provide consultation to staff and parents for improving students' academic and behavioral success through pre-referral interventions, observations and classroom strategies.
    • Develop and implement strategies for improving academics and students' behavior including collecting, analyzing and interpreting data in the classroom and other school settings, using systems such as RtI and PBIS.
    • Participate in and conduct trainings for district staff on aspects of problem solving including data collection and analysis, cultural competence in assessment and positive behavioral supports.
    • Assist school staff in the identification of students with disabilities ages birth through 21, including ELL students, through participation in pre-referral activities, child study committees and consultation activities, and in planning appropriate assessment and reassessment procedures for students.
    • Administer intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior and other normed referenced instruments including scoring and interpretation providing both written and oral reports to parents, students and professionals.
    • Administer and interpret informal assessments including parent, teacher and student interviews, observations in the classroom and other settings to aid in supporting results from formal assessment.
    • Assist school staff with due process procedures including eligibility requirements, parent rights and record keeping.
    • Assist in school district projects or special activities that require consultation and/or direct services of a school psychologist.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
