About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resourceful Case Manager to support our growing caseload of program recipients. This role is ideal for a graduate student or emerging professional pursuing a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, or a related field. The Case Manager will help implement foundational processes, manage a dynamic caseload, and collaborate with partner organizations to deliver wraparound services effectively to meet the needs of each individual and family we serve.

Since 2021 Freerent.org has helped 245 individuals across 78 families, providing over $330k of rental assistance and wraparound support services. As a part-time Case Manager, you’ll gain hands-on experience in social services while shaping the foundational processes of a rapidly growing nonprofit. Your contributions will help ensure families remain housed and have the tools they need to build long-term success.

About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resourceful Case Manager to support our growing caseload of program recipients. This role is ideal for a graduate student or emerging professional pursuing a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, or a related field. The Case Manager will help implement foundational processes, manage a dynamic caseload, and collaborate with partner organizations to deliver wraparound services effectively to meet the needs of each individual and family we serve.
Role Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage an initial caseload of approximately 35 program participants, ensuring efficient tracking and individualized support plans. Caseload may increase as the program grows
- Client Support: Conduct intake assessments, develop action plans, manage quarterly meetings and provide ongoing support to participants to ensure they are on track to achieve their goals and maximize the rental assistance and additional services they receive to achieve longterm financial stability
- Program Implementation: Help define, refine and improve our case management processes, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery in alignment with our mission
- Collaboration & Resource Navigation: Work closely with nonprofit and social service organizations to coordinate and track comprehensive support for program participants, including financial literacy resources, workforce development programs, and other essential services
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain real-time accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes to support program evaluation and funding requirements
- A graduate student or early-career professional pursuing or holding a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, human services, or a related field
- Passionate about housing and financial stability and economic empowerment
- Skilled in working with people, problem solving, resource navigation, and team and community collaboration
- A strong communicator with the ability to engage compassionately and equitably with diverse populations
- Agile and adaptable,self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving nonprofit environment
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Prior experience in case management, social services, or nonprofit work
- Familiarity with rental assistance programs, public benefits, or housing advocacy is a plus
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a small, dedicated team
