What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Law Intern position at Investment Company Institute?
As the leading global association of mutual funds, ETFs, and other regulated funds, the mission of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) is to strengthen the foundation of the asset management industry for the ultimate benefit of the long-term individual investor.
We currently have an internship opportunity available in our Law department during the summer.
This is a great opportunity to work with attorneys developing policy positions and analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals relevant to the mutual fund industry. Interns also will have the opportunity to attend meetings with mutual fund industry participants.
The intern will assist securities and/or international attorneys in the following ways:
- Research legal and regulatory issues (e.g., rule proposal and adoptions and enforcement actions) and summarize findings in emails and/or memoranda.
- Contribute to written advocacy (e.g., comment letters) and educational materials (e.g., issue-specific website materials).
- Draft communications to law department staff (e.g., summaries of conferences) and members.
- Work on various policy projects as needed.
If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:
- Current law student with excellent academic credentials (including coursework in corporate and securities law).
- Knowledge and interest in investing and the investment management industry is a plus.
- Related work or internship experience.
