Description
Performs a wide range of duties related to the closing and funding of conventional (Jumbo and Non-QM residential and business purpose mortgage loans. Responsible for preparing closing documents, funding the loan, and closing and auditing the most complex loans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare Initial Closing Disclosures and Redisclosures with a valid Change of Circumstance (COC)
- Ensure the data integrity in the system is accurate
- Coordinate scheduling with Title & Closing Company
- Prepare closing documents in a timely manner.
- Communicate with escrow/title companies, loan brokers, and other parties to ensure all conditions and regulatory requirements are met prior to funding. Obtain or request missing conditions.
- Review signed closing documents and provide authorization for disbursement.
- Prepare for the disbursement of funds as per the terms of the transaction.
- Follow-up to internal and external customers for needed documents, and ensure all required documents are present in file.
- Actively participate in ongoing efforts to continually improve customer service for internal and external customers.
- Review funding reports to ensure loans are funded within appropriate timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with title companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth closings.
- Assist in training new hires.
- Take an active role as an escalation point within the team based on experience/knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of Verus’ policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years’ previous closing experience required
- Strong background/knowledge in TRID requirements as well as multi-state closing requirements
- Extensive knowledge of real estate documents requirements and closing process
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong PC skills (MS Office required)
- Must have experience with mortgage origination systems, platforms, tools and technology (Mortgage Flex preferred)
- Demonstrated organization skills Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills
