Description
Our Factory of the Future Consulting team serves as a trusted partner and advisor for our diverse customer base for developing automation strategies and identifying opportunities to accelerate transformational manufacturing improvements or greenfield site builds. Our clients range from Fortune 500 teams to privately-held, single-site manufacturers across many industries such as Medical Devices / Life Sciences, Renewable Energy Generation & Storage, Mobility, Agriculture, Construction Products, Aerospace, and Industrial Goods & Products. Our project work is diverse and offers an opportunity to evaluate automation solutions across multiple technologies and solution spaces, often combining multiple technologies and manufacturing processes. While each project is unique, a typical engagement consists of an on-site workshop at our customer’s factories, followed by deep-dives into the ‘what, how, and why’ of potential automation or tooling projects. Our consulting team sits at the nexus of Invio’s entire suite of Industry 4.0 solutions and collaborates significantly with Invio’s in-house design, subject-matter experts, engineering, and estimating teams.

As a Client Development Executive (Director-level) on the Factory of the Future Consulting team, you will be responsible for growing sales and profits for our consulting services business unit. Your primary focus will be to devise and execute the growth strategy of the consulting offering in collaboration with Invio leadership for the next three years. This candidate will be a strong business developer, with core responsibilities that include:
The Client Development Executive will be pivotal in driving sales outcomes and cultivating relationships among new and existing customers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional customer service, business development, and client delivery is a must. Being sensitive to the unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with consulting and sales is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of our internal and external customers.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Sales, Business, Engineering or related field required. Advanced degrees in business or engineering are a plus.

Your primary focus will be to devise and execute the growth strategy of the consulting offering in collaboration with Invio leadership for the next three years. This candidate will be a strong business developer, with core responsibilities that include:
- Serve as a trusted advisor and executive thought-partner to customer leadership teams
- Devise and implement a marketing strategy to grow recognition of the offering in the marketplace, with specific activities that may include:
- Onboarding a marketing professional
- Creating and promoting digital content
- Digital advertising
- Speaking engagements
- Writing and publishing thought-leading content
- Representing Invio at trade shows and within professional organizations
- Expand Invio’s footprint within existing customer accounts
- Identify and source new accounts aligned with key strategic verticals (e.g., Medical Devices / Life Sciences, Renewables, Mobility, and Industrials)
- Lead internal teams in responding to RFPs and activities related to closing new business
- Collaborate with other leaders in the company to develop and implement an operating model to deliver on the sales goals

- Prior experience in sales is required, preferably in industrial automation or consulting
- Prior experience in manufacturing and operations is required
- Compensation for this role includes salary commission, with heavy emphasis to be based on sales outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and facilitation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s ERP and Salesforce system
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into action
- Ability to travel as needed to support consulting project sales and delivery; typical travel is up to ~25% per month and is commonly related to 2-3 day workshops at customer facilities or for travel to other company locations to host prospective customers
- Position is listed as Remote in the United States, preferably within proximity to a major airport. Opportunity for in-person at any Invio facility location (MI, IL, MN, NH).
