The Invo-Progressus team currently has full time need for a Charter High School ELA teacher. The ELA Teacher will play a pivotal role in cultivating a passion for reading, writing, and critical thinking among high school students. They will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for academic success, college readiness, and lifelong learning. The ideal candidate is a reflective educator committed to equity, innovation, and fostering a love for literature and language arts.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Instructional Planning and Delivery
Develop and deliver rigorous, engaging, and standards-based lessons in English Language Arts.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs.Integrate technology and project-based learning to enhance instruction and student engagement.Utilize formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and measure student progress.Case Management for 12 studentsCurriculum and AssessmentAlign teaching practices with the Common Core State Standards for ELA.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum materials.Create and administer assessments, including essays, projects, and standardized test preparation.Classroom EnvironmentEstablish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.
Implement classroom management strategies that promote a safe and productive learning environment.Collaboration and Professional DevelopmentParticipate in regular professional learning communities (PLCs) and school-wide professional development sessions.
Engage in reflective practices and seek feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and community members to support student success.Student Support and AdvocacyMonitor and support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, maintaining high expectations for all learners.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Secondary English or eligibility for certification.Previous teaching experience in a high school setting, preferably in an urban or charter school environment.Strong knowledge of Common Core standards, culturally responsive pedagogy, and adolescent literacy strategies.Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.Preferred Skills and Attributes :
