DEPARTMENT: Quality
REPORTS TO: Director of Quality
SHIFT: 1st 8 AM - 5 PM M-F
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise QC Line Inspectors and Inbound components and Label inspectors.
- Oversee activities on the production floor which involve Quality and QC Inspectors.
- Train QC Inspectors and evaluate proficiency and performance of inspectors.
- Manage daily activities of QC inspectors and schedule them according to production needs.
- Create weekly and weekend QC schedules limiting overtime as much as possible.
- Interpret and implement quality control standards to ensure quality of product.
- Assist QC inspectors in resolving technical problems, packaging issue start up issues.
- Review quality control standards, specifications, and procedures, and evaluate effectiveness of quality control program.
- Review and evaluate quality records.
- Provide training to QCs regarding new and updated SOPs and GMPs.
- Assist in investigation of nonconformance and customer complaints.
- Inspect products on manufacturing line for flaws or defects.
- Perform duties of absent QC inspectors to maintain work schedules
- Ensure that all GMP and Safety standards are in compliance.
- Management of retain samples program. Ensuring all retain samples are pulled and stored per company requirements, assist in pulling retain samples for OTC inspections, cosmetic inspections and disposition of older retains.
- Calibrate ATP instruments, trouble shoot any issues with ATP instruments by consulting Hygiena technology support team.
- Order Quality supplies.
- May conduct work group meetings to relay management information to QCs, and solicit response to work-related problems.
- Other duties or responsibilities may be required as needed.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field, PCQI and HACCP certified preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of dietary supplements, cosmetics or OTC processes, GMPs, and product/process validation.
- Ability to develop clear, concise, and timely oral and written reports.
