What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Specialist position at Inyo County Office of Education?
Under the supervision of the SELPA Director, plans and provides language, speech, hearing and educational services to school districts and to the Inyo County Office of Education; screen students to determine eligibility; work as an active, productive member of the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) team; track the progress of students in the program, maintain case files and create reports; responsibly perform a variety of instructional services within a well-defined framework of policies, procedures and objectives; use sound judgment and initiative in working with students; provide weekly and monthly reports of services, screening and assessments and do other related work as required. Working in partnership with school districts, other agencies, and families, the Inyo County Office of Education staff supports quality education for all students. Our responsibilities are to facilitate and communicate information, programs, and change; serve as an innovative role model; promote increased efficiency; and coordinate efforts. •Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Credential/Waiver authorizing Language, Speech, & Hearing.
