Computer Numerical Control Machinist

We're searching for an experienced machinist that can give us an extra set of hands on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming CNC machines; our machines are Mazak, but experience with Mazatrol specifically is not necessary. This role is crucial for producing high-quality components that meet precise specifications, as we create parts for a variety of specialties, many of which are tightly toleranced.

Responsibilities

• Set up & program CNC machines, producing parts to their exact specs.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Utilize CAD software for programming machine operations.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines, to verify part dimensions. This includes running programs made for the CMM, programmed by other employees.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the machining process to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC machining with hands-on experience operating various types of CNC equipment.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, hand tools, and machining techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software for programming purposes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Basic math skills for calculations related to machining processes.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
