: Lower School Office Assistant (LSOA)
The Lower School Office Assistant (LSOA) will directly provide critical administrative support to the Lower School (LS) faculty, parents, and students to ensure smooth daily operations. Under the direction of the Lower School Executive Assistant (LSEA), they will also provide administrative support for the Dean of Lower School (DLS) and Associate Dean of Lower School (ADLS).
Essential Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Handle phone calls, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff and faculty members.
- Utilize the school database, including Veracross, to send email correspondences to families for DLS and ADLS and to assist in managing student records and updates.
- Maintain and organize files, records, and documents pertinent to school operations and student information.
- Assist with daily student attendance and lunch orders.
Communication and Coordination
- Coordinate the distribution of materials for meetings, presentations, and special events as well as postal mail and all other publications.
Supply and Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory of office and school supplies.
- Place orders for new supplies for office, faculty, and staff as necessary, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
General Support
- Assist faculty and staff with correspondence and clerical needs.
Help with the setup and breakdown of school events and activities, at times before and after hours. - Cross-train and be knowledgeable of LSEA and Lower School Administrative Assistant (LSAA) duties.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of office experience. Experience in an independent school setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.) with a willingness and ability to learn new computer applications.-

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to see and hear within normal parameters with or without correction; full leg and arm mobility (walking, ability to access overhead shelves); full range of head, neck, and back movement; and unrestricted ability to bend knees, raise arms above the head, and to move hands, fingers, and wrist.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds without difficulty.
- Ability to sit for extended periods; and ability to stand and/or walk for sustained periods of time.
Due to work in close proximity to children, must pass fingerprinting and background clearance checks.
TB clearance required.
