Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, 'Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawai'i enrolling approximately 2200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.
'Iolani School seeks a full-time Upper School Physical Education (PE) teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Candidates should have experience teaching movement skills, physical fitness, and health in both the middle and high school. The ideal candidate is organized, a strong communicator and committed to professional growth in their discipline and teaching practice. They must work collaboratively with other PE staff members to review health and fitness curriculum that supports living a healthy lifestyle through lifetime activities. Candidates need to physically demonstrate and teach with adequate efficiency the physical movements necessary to participate safely in sports and activities.
Requirements for each candidate are as follows: 1. Certified in Lifeguard Training through the American Red Cross; 2. Certified in CPR/First Aid/AED; 3. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
'Iolani School has many extracurricular opportunities available for those looking to extend their work beyond the classroom, including, but not limited to: participation in our residential life program and coaching athletic and/or academic student teams.
