Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, 'Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawai'i enrolling approximately 2200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.
'Iolani School seeks a full-time Upper School Science teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach grade 7 Earth Science and/or grade 8 Physical Science. The position requires ongoing collaboration with teaching teams at both the course and grade level.
In addition to being an active participant in our vibrant learning community, we are looking for an educator who will inspire and support our students. The ideal candidate is dynamic, a strong communicator (both written and oral) and committed to professional growth in their discipline and teaching practice.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or higher in Science or a related discipline, as well as at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in grades 7-12. Teaching experience at grades 6-8 is preferred. A demonstrated ability to create engaging hands-on lessons that encourage scientific thinking while differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs. Candidates should be comfortable designing, executing and sharing curriculum as part of a teaching team and embrace the use of instructional technology.
'Iolani School has many extracurricular opportunities available for those looking to extend their work beyond the classroom, including, but not limited to: participation in our residential life program, coaching athletic and/or academic student teams, and serving as an adviser in our homeroom advisory program.
