SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CEO, The Director of Community Programs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for DACL-funded community programs and Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) programs, ensuring integration, impact, and fiscal responsibility, and oversees data management to support data-driven decision-making and enhance program outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Program Leadership
- Lead the formulation and execution of strategic plans for the Social Services and Community Programs Team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
- Lead the development and integration of Iona’s ADRD programs into a comprehensive ecosystem and practice model.
- Monitor program performance, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance with funder requirements.
- Collaborate with Iona’s Development Department to provide comprehensive grant reports.
- Establish and maintain a schedule for policy and procedure review, overseeing the development of new policies and procedures in collaboration with Senior Managers.
- Support agency initiatives to advance data collection and reporting processes.
- Provide oversight for the use and management of program data to drive strategic decisions, ensure compliance, and track outcomes,
Fiscal Management
- Partner with program managers to develop and monitor comprehensive budgets for the Nutrition Program, ATDC, DACL Lead Agency and ADRD programs, ensuring effective resource allocation.
- Oversee federal, local and private grants for the ADRD and Community Programs teams.
Department Management and Development
- Directly supervise the Associate Clinical Director, the Associate Director of Programs, and the Data Manager
- Support managers as they create a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement within the agency.
- Create opportunities for growth and professional development for direct reports.
- Ensure effective data management and reporting, fostering the use of data to improve program performance, meet compliance standards, and inform decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in management of community social services.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, in social work, sociology, public administration policy, public health, or any other related field.
- Knowledge of the senior services community, and DC Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) strongly preferred.
- Superior project management skills including managing multiple and ongoing projects; planning from inception to completion; mapping out a timeline(s); executing or delegation of phases; creating, allocating and maintaining a budget; communicating to stakeholders; troubleshooting; and advise on delivering and maintaining the end results.
- Ability to interpret and apply data insights to assess program effectiveness, meet compliance requirements, and support strategic planning.
- Experience managing staff responsible for data collection, reporting, and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act tactically.
- Superior critical thinking skills, including the capacity to identify and appropriately assess and order competing interests and priorities.
- Strong integrity, ethics and professionalism and a commitment to advancing Iona’s mission & core values.
- Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written, spoken and presentation.
- Fluent in Excel and familiar with budget and project management.
