The Director of Programs at Northwestern Community Services Board (NWCSB) provides administrative oversight, leadership, and support to program service lines. As a member of the Agency’s Executive Leadership team, this role is essential in translating the Agency's vision into actionable operations, guaranteeing the efficient and high-quality delivery of services to our clients. The Director will work closely with program managers, drive process improvement initiatives, boost operational efficiency through team engagement, and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures within functional areas. The Director is instrumental in achieving operational excellence and delivering top-notch care to those we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Virginia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in program management.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • A mix of education and experience that shows the necessary skills and knowledge for a senior leadership role in a medium-to-large behavioral health organization.
  • An appreciation for and support of diversity in all its forms, and a demonstrated ability to interact with or serve individuals with diverse backgrounds, including clients, coworkers, and members of the community.
  • An eagerness to invest in one’s community through service.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and the ability to provide own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

For this position, the most competitive candidates will possess:

  • Experience in senior leadership level in a public behavioral health, private provider, or managed care organization.
  • Previous experience working in a community services board’s complex regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, collaborators, community representatives, and the public

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s homes, including dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases.
  • Must be able to drive for long periods of time to travel in and out of the catchment area as needed.
  • Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at times.

SALARY: Starting at $96,634

RETIREMENT: NWCSB participates in Virginia Retirement System.
