SUMMARY:

The Mental Health and Support Groups Program Manager oversees and manages Iona's mental health program, including psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families, and support groups for older adults and caregivers. The Mental Health Program Manager also carries a caseload of psychotherapy clients, conducts support groups and educational programs, and provides individual and group supervision to CCMC and Wellness & Arts Center staff and interns as needed.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative:

o Coordinate new client intake, insurance verification, case assignment.

o Oversee operations of support groups including logistics and staffing.

o Create and revise program policies and procedures.

o Oversee output and outcome tracking.

o Prepare and monitor annual program budget.

o Develop and implement new initiatives for revenue growth and program sustainability.

o Manage the support group fee structure.

o Lead response to insurance audits.

o Coordinate processing of contractor billing.

o Serve as Iona staff contact for Silver Circles Peer Support Groups for LGBTQ Older Adults program, which is provided in partnership with Whitman Walker Health and is supported by the DC Department of Aging and Community Living.

  • Clinical:

o Conduct mental health assessments including DSM-5-TR diagnosis.

o Provide psychotherapy in the office, in the home when clients are homebound, by telehealth, and at senior living communities.

o Design and lead support groups as needed.

o Provide clinical and operational support to Silver Circles group facilitators and assist with planning and design of programming.

o Provide regular clinical group consultation to Mental Health Program psychotherapists and support group facilitators, and individual consultation as needed.

  • Outreach

o Plan and conduct educational programs for older adults, caregivers, and professionals.

o Develop marketing and outreach plan to increase Mental Health and Support Group Program visibility.

  • Other

o Meet continuing education requirements for professional development according to requirements for DC social work licensure.

o Accomplish other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Social Work with LICSW licensure in the District of Columbia
  • LCSW-C in Maryland (preferred).
  • Minimum three years of relevant social work experience required, including experience with older adults and their families.
  • Minimum three-five years of experience in clinical supervision and social services program management.
  • Training in psychotherapy techniques.
  • Ability to lead support groups.
  • Excellent communication skills, strategic planning, program development and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills and computer literacy.

Pay: $86,500.00 - $90,000.00 per year
