Job Summary
The Accountant III plays a crucial role in the accounting department, overseeing general ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable for Iowa Bankers and affiliates. This position requires strong analytical skills to review and analyze daily and monthly transaction data, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform or review daily and monthly transaction analysis, activity reports, and reconciliations of ledger and subledger accounts.
- Enhance and improve internal controls and policies and procedures in the accounting of the mortgage operation.
- Provide excellent client service to internal departments and have a positive attitude to meet their needs.
- Assist with coordination and preparation of records and reports for internal users and annual audit and tax returns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Three or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, database, bank transaction software, and GL experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and effective written and oral communication skills.
