What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Secretary position at IOWA County?
The Iowa County District Attorney’s Office is seeking applications for a full time (35 hrs / wk) Legal Secretary. Primary duties include compiling legal briefs, civil and criminal complaints; prepare State Discovery Demands; and recording and transcribing correspondences, memoranda’s, reports. Hours are 8 : 30a.m.-4 : 30p.m., M-F. Starting pay range is $25.40 / hr.-29.03 / hr., and a generous, comprehensive benefit package.
Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to the following : high school diploma, Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Technical Degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice or related field with two (2) years of increasingly varied and complex clerical experience including one (1) year of legal clerical experience in a court system or law office and / or the equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, experience and abilities may be considered for the position, demonstrated proficiency in the use and operation of a personal computer and Microsoft Word and Excel programs in a business or government office setting.
