Look no further!Join us at Woodward Resource Center (WRC), as aDriver.As a Driver, you will be responsible for transporting clients and staff to various on-campus activities, program sites, work sites, and living units under the general direction of the Vehicle Fleet Supervisor. Additionally, you will provide transportation to off-grounds appointments including medical exams, psychological evaluations, and surgeries.About Woodward Resource Center (WRC)At WRC, an Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) state-operated specialty care facility, our mission is to prepare and support individuals to live in the community of their choice. We’re committed to providing quality care and support tailored to each individual's needs and aspirations.What You'll Do : Transport clients and staff to and from on-campus and off-grounds activities using passenger buses and fleet vehicles.Safely load and unload ambulatory clients and those requiring wheelchairs using approved procedures.Assist direct care staff in client management and protection from harm when needed.Communicate with the vehicle dispatcher via radio to expedite transportation timing.Maintain a schedule without causing undue stress or harm to clients and staff.Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles including daily checks, fueling, washing, cleaning, and inspections for physical damage.Keep records of work performed, hours spent on work orders, fuel dispensed, vehicle inspections, etc.Assist in basic building maintenance repairs when needed.Perform related duties as required including grounds maintenance, custodial tasks, and snow removal.Hours : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 A.M. - 3 : 30 P.M., with Weekend and Holiday standby rotationKey Competencies : Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies : Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes and passenger endorsements.Ability to maintain required licensure for passenger buses and fleet vehicles.Excellent communication skills.Ability to follow directions and work independently.Prior experience in transportation or related field preferred.Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.Benefits of Joining WRCWorking for the State of Iowa comes with its perks.
