Job Summary:
The Clinical Manager is a Registered Nurse who collaborates with the IEC Medical Advisory Board and CEO to establish, implement, develop, and organize operational programs and functions. The Clinical Manager will assume responsibilities in the absence of the CEO.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing
- Active RN license to practice in the state
- BSN degree preferred
- Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years as a Staff Nurse, with experience in medical, surgical, and endoscopy nursing
- Current CPR and ACLS certification
Job Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively counsel, teach, market, and manage public relations
- In-depth knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, including medical, biological, social, and physical sciences and their application to patient care
- Understanding of treatment principles and nursing procedures
- Familiarity with operations, policies, and procedures in an ambulatory surgical/endoscopy center
- Knowledge of organizational functions across various facility areas, and their relation to patient care
- Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques
- Basic knowledge of management practices and personnel administration
- Familiarity with equipment and supplies used in the Endoscopy Center
- Awareness of changes in endoscopy practices and technology, and a commitment to professional growth
- Willingness to expand skills and training
Working Conditions:
- Constant walking, frequent standing, and light lifting (10-25 lbs.)
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and physical activities like stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and carrying 10-15 lbs.
- Rarely lifts a maximum of 50 lbs.
Job Relationships:
- Reports to the IEC Medical Advisory Board and CEO
- Supervises charge nurses, professional, and non-professional nursing staff
- Serves as the nursing representative on committees such as Quality Improvement, Infection Control, and Medical Advisory
- Works with the Administrative Manager to address unit needs
- Collaborates closely with the Quality Coordinator to prepare for regulatory surveys and inspections from AAAHC and Medicare
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates on developing and implementing the facility’s philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Partners with the Administrative Manager to plan, secure, store, and distribute supplies for patient care areas
- Assists in the development and administration of the facility's annual budget in relation to patient care areas
- Supports staffing planning for the endoscopy suite, ensuring adequate personnel for direct patient care
- Coordinates preceptor assignments for new employees during orientation
- Works with the building manager to maintain and prepare equipment for use
- Prepares and maintains reports for the facility as necessary
- Coordinates patient care areas to ensure smooth patient flow
- Manages customer service for patients and families
- Identifies training needs and schedules staff education sessions
- Conducts staff and charge nurse meetings quarterly and as needed
- Assists in staff performance reviews
- Coordinates staff assignments and ensures completion of duties
- Oversees scheduling and time-off requests
- Works with HR to address employee issues
