Todco, an Iowa Plains Signing, Inc. company, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Control Technician (Skilled Laborer) to join our team. This position requires a strong understanding of traffic control, making it essential for candidates to have experience in this field.
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead / Operators in all aspects, where needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate between contractors, project owners, and company management.
- Must be able to properly secure your loads.
- Read plans, road standards, and comprehend basic written information relating to projects.
- Direct traffic around construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Operate heavy equipment including Forklift and Bobcat, as needed.
- Assist in utility locating to prevent damage to underground services during construction activities.
- Collaborate with construction teams to facilitate smooth operations on-site.
- Monitor and maintain safe working conditions while paving and performing other construction tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members and the public regarding site activities and safety protocols.
- Must be ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Certified.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Vision / color perception.
- Standing 5 hours.
- Lifting and carrying up to 90lbs.
- Mount / dismount trucks and forklifts.
- Strong communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with team members.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety protocols.
- A valid driver's license.
- Able to push, pull, bend, and lift arms over head.
