The ideal Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in helping us continue to be the premier provider of radiologic services in Iowa by providing high-quality imaging services, ensuring patient safety, and delivering accurate diagnostic information.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist:
- Create and process invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors, tracking customer payments, and maintaining accurate records for all accounts.
- Ensure all invoices are accurate, properly coded, and authorized for payment.
- Reconcile accounts payable reports to general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, identifying discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies regarding vendor payments.
- Process biweekly payroll for all employees and generate and distribute accurate payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, and taxes.
- Manage and ensure accurate timekeeping and attendance records for hourly employees, coordinating with department heads to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure proper calculation and deduction of benefits, garnishments, and other deductions from employee paychecks.
- Assist with regular payroll audits and reconcile payroll data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, such as pay discrepancies, tax questions, and benefits-related issues.
- Reconcile payroll expenses with accounts payable liabilities with general ledger.
- Assist with tax filings, including W-2 and 1099 forms, as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist:
- Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in accounts payable and payroll processing.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll software and accounting systems (QuickBooks a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual effort.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Continuous mental and visual concentration requiring attention-to-detail and accuracy.
- Working conditions are typical to a normal office or individual home office environment.
- Must possess manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks associated with technology use (phone, computer, applications, and software).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch as part of job functions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds when necessary.
