The Iowa State University Department of Chemistry invites applications for two term faculty teaching positions at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank. The successful candidates will have excellent teaching and communications skills and provide effective and welcoming learning experiences for students.
Responsibilities include large, in-person introductory courses as well as advanced undergraduate courses; course assignments may evolve over time and may include online teaching. Service work within the department, which may focus on issues of TA management, undergraduate affairs, and other parts of the life of the department and the college, is also required.
The initial teaching assignments for either position are two courses per semester. These positions have the possibility of renewal, contingent upon departmental staffing needs and a successful performance review. Opportunities for teaching summer courses, either in person or online, are often available.
