Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation for the 2025 Hamilton County Fair
- Gather, organize, market, restock, and disassemble materials for summer events and county fair
- Accurately enter and organize county fair data
- Assist with the preparation, delivery, and pickup of Iowa State Fair exhibits
- Assist in the delivery of youth summer programming as needed
- Answer office phone and assist with walk-ins as needed
- Assist County Youth Coordinator as needed in support of the Hamilton County 4-H Program
- Any other related duties deemed necessary to the success of ISU Extension and Outreach in Hamilton County
- High school diploma
- Available for Hamilton County Fair preparation and events (July 18th-July 29, 2025)
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal word
- Problem-solving, organizational skills, and multitasking capabilities
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must successfully complete background screening
- Ability to lift and move 40 lbs
- At least 1-year post-secondary studies
- 4-H background, either as a member or volunteer
- Experience organizing events and activities
- Experience working with youth and volunteers
- In accordance with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Child Protection and Safety Policy, a background check will be completed and approved acceptable on the selected applicant before employment begins.
