The Winnebago County Temporary Summer Employee will work in a team relationship to provide client support, administrative assistance and programming support to county extension staff housed in the county office. These duties include, but are not limited to, calendar of programs/events, record management, marketing assistance and preparing and delivering youth programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to front desk responsibilities as requested to maintain.
- Use standard policies and procedures regarding county business operations and council relations.
- Assist in planning and implementation of various day camps and workshops according to expressed interest and observed need.
- Assist with preparation and implementation of county fair.
- Assist with preparation of exhibits for Iowa State Fair.
- Assist County Youth Coordinator in planning and carryout of fair events.
- Promotes and markets Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
- Answer phone; process and handle incoming/outgoing mail; organize and maintain publications, media resources and filing system.
- Keep required logs, such as equipment checkout, schedules, bookings, reservations, etc.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, training, webinars and teleconference as requested by supervisor.
- Submit mileage reports as requested by supervisor.
- Computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, email, and internet
- Effective communication in written and verbal form
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, events, activities
- Interest in working with youth
- Highly organized individual with ability to work independently
- Preference to candidates with knowledge of 4-H and Winnebago County
- Access to transportation and driver’s license required
- Must successfully complete background screening prior to official hire date.
