Objective
The Youth Education Coordinator will work with youth, volunteers, community partners, and professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate a progressive series of educational programs and experiences that work toward multiple life skill outcomes (leadership, citizenship, communications, personal life management and knowledge). Our priorities include enrichment learning experiences and capacity building for positive youth development in school and in out of school settings.
Responsibilities
Work with youth, volunteers, community partners, and professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate a progressive series of educational programs and experiences that work toward multiple life skill outcomes (leadership, citizenship, communications, personal life management and knowledge).
Positive youth development programs focus on connecting young people with caring adults and involving them over an extended period of time. Our priorities include: enrichment learning experiences and capacity building for positive youth development in school and in out of school settings.
Qualifications
Must be age 18 or older and possess valid driver’s license. Familiarity with ISU Extension and Outreach Delaware County and 4-H and youth program preferred. Must be able to be approved under ISU Extension and Outreach child protection policy and background check. Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry required. Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Post-secondary studies in youth development, public relations, or related fields preferred.
Additional Information
This position is 20 hours per week with some evening and weekend hours required, up to 30 hours per week during summer with overtime allowed during fair week. Non-exempt
