What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Operations Student Assistant position at Iowa State University Foundation Student?
Core Responsibilities
- Provide general tech support to ISU Foundation staff including but not limited to:
- Installing new equipment (computers, monitors, etc.)
- Troubleshooting hardware and software computer issues
- Answering telephone calls from staff related to hardware, software, and network operation.
- Assist IT Operations staff with technical projects and duties such as hardware and software inventory, datacenter maintenance, and managing equipment checkout.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be currently enrolled at Iowa State, preferably an underclassman in computer science, MIS, or related degree program.
- Must be authorized to work off campus without additional approval from the ISSO.
- Working knowledge and experience with Windows 10 and MacOS.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
- Creativity, patience, a sense of humor and a belief in our organizational mission of: Aligning donor passion and generosity to advance Iowa State University’s land grant ideals.
This part-time student position pays $14 per hour at 6-12 hours per week. The ISU Foundation is a work-study eligible employer.
