What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center Coordinator position at IPEX Management Inc.?
The Distribution Center Coordinator (DCC) is responsible for assisting in the management and development of the Distribution Centre and works in collaboration with other departments to ensure that IPEX properly responds to the needs of our customers.
The Distribution Center Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and preparation of all outgoing shipments and ensuring order accuracy while maintaining good customer service, assist in directing the storage and handling of products and inventories and in ensuring proper documentation of all incoming, outgoing and warehoused material. The DCC is also responsible for ensuring that all Health, Safety and C-TPAT policies are followed.
Principal Responsibilities
- Supervise the Distribution Operations according to the existing service and quality standards defined by IPEX
- and develop the DC team in a way that insures team cohesion and effectiveness in offering prompt and accurate customer service;
- Develop, promote and manage the different aspects of Health & Safety, as well as Human Resources;
- Maintain inventory accuracy through the use of the RF technology, cycle and physical counts;
- Assist in the development of the operating budget and, once approved, manage it;
- Use Continuous Improvement principles to make operations more efficient while improving customer service. This is accomplished by using Lean Principles, Problem Solving, 5S Programs, etc.
- Ensure that the DC follows all internal practices such as, but not limited to, the TMS, C-TPAT program, company standards, etc
- Ensure proper training of employees according to internal standards and provincial/state laws and regulations specific to our industry.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of a college diploma in a related field, or equivalent work experience in Distribution, Logistics and/or Customer Service;
- 3-5 years of experience in a Distribution Center environment
- Positive leadership and project management skills;
- Excellent written & verbal skills;
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in an RF environment
- Experience working/managing in a unionized environment
- Experience with SAP an asset.
