Job Summary
The Reporting and Business Intelligence Summer Co-Op Student will be responsible for, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Excellence Manager optimizing our processes and workflows and will play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, implementing solutions, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations
Principal Responsibilities
Conducting process analyses to find opportunities for improvement
Work on projects to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across departments using lean management methodologies
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices
Collect and analyze data to measure the efficiency of implemented changes and identify further optimization opportunities
Support the documentation process by updating standard operating procedures and work instructions
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest innovative solutions to operational challenges
Provide support for training initiatives related to new processes or system implementations
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and skill requirements
Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently with diverse teams
Diligent with a focus on accuracy and quality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, PowerPoint, Word)
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction
Prior experience or coursework in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is a plus
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C ) is an asset
