Job Summary

The Reporting and Business Intelligence Summer Co-Op Student will be responsible for, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Excellence Manager optimizing our processes and workflows and will play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, implementing solutions, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations

Principal Responsibilities

• Conducting process analyses to find opportunities for improvement

• Work on projects to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across departments using lean management methodologies

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices

• Collect and analyze data to measure the efficiency of implemented changes and identify further optimization opportunities

• Support the documentation process by updating standard operating procedures and work instructions

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest innovative solutions to operational challenges

• Provide support for training initiatives related to new processes or system implementations

• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and skill requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

• Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently with diverse teams

• Diligent with a focus on accuracy and quality

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, PowerPoint, Word)

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction

• Prior experience or coursework in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is a plus

• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C ) is an asset
