Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aerospace Manufacturing Technician to join our team to support the production. This hands-on role involves the manufacture, assembly, and testing of rocket components, ensuring they meet engineering specifications and written procedures.
Responsibilities
- Setup production work areas, including tooling and equipment, for efficient production workflows.
- Assist with the transition from development to production, including first article production.
- Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, and perform rework, repair, or maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and flight vehicle transportation equipment.
- Use precision calibrated tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and laser trackers to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety and operational efficiency.
- Support 5S, FOD, and ESD practices by maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Perform routine maintenance, including clean-up of work areas and equipment.
- Flexibility to work off-shift, overtime, and weekends as needed to meet production goals.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or related field.
- Experience in at least one of the following: fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation, electrical harness routing, or general aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Clear communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
- Basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and operate in small or restricted areas.
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks and lifting items up to 35lbs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in a related field.
- Proven experience as a hands-on technical leader with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in handling large aerospace components and assembling tight-tolerance structures.
- Familiarity with new product introduction and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
- Military experience is a plus.
