Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Retail Merchandiser to join our team in YOKOTA, Japan (occasional visits to Camp Fuji Exchange and Camp Zama). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products are presented in an appealing manner and that inventory levels are maintained effectively. You will work closely with store management to implement merchandising strategies that drive sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. THIS POSITION IS A 1099 CONTRACT POSITION OPEN TO MILITARY SPOUSES, VETERANS, RETIREES, EX-PAT, JAPANESE LOCALS. This position will include 3-5 hours weekly at Yokota, Camp Fuji visits (~8 hours 1x monthly), occasional Camp Zama visits (~3 hours 4x annually).
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with store personnel to understand their needs and provide support.
- Become familiar with Ira Green, Inc. products (Brigade QM Tactical products, Bear Forces of America plush, Challenge Coin coins).
- Keep the sales floor stocked and clean, and the back stock organized.
- Conduct regular inventory control checks to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
- Assist in store layout resets to optimize product placement and visibility.
- Sell products by engaging customers, providing information, and promoting features.
- Manage time efficiently to complete tasks within designated schedules.
- Present new items to store managers as they become available.
- Supervise merchandising activities, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align merchandising efforts with overall sales goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail merchandising or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success in this role.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and inventory management practices is a plus.
- Experience with resetting retail display or store layout is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently with little day-to-day oversight.
- A passion for supporting military service members, promoting sales and a proactive approach to engaging customers is desired.
