JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of the Adult Medicaid Long Term Care and Special Assistance Intake/Redetermination Unit is to determine an applicant or recipient’s needs for financial and or Medical Assistance, based on specific federal and state governmental regulations and guidelines. The focus will be on Medicaid Long Term Care, Special Assistance, In -Home SA, CAP, and PACE for seniors and disabled individuals. Once eligibility is determined, the Caseworker III must regularly monitor and update the recipient’s file to assure that the case remains eligible. The Caseworker III is required to make the appropriate changes to each case.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of Adult Medicaid and Special Assistance regulations. Considerable knowledge of all agency and community programs and services that could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of all income maintenance programs. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to read analyze and interpret a variety of regulations, policies, and procedure of varying complexity. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Ability to understand the needs and problems of clients/applicants. Ability to perform caseworker function under and within structured time frames. Ability to work in NCFAST. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker in Adult Medicaid; prefer some Long Term Care knowledge. Knowledge of NCFAST, computer usage, electronic filing of documents, and scanning ability required. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pmSALARY RANGE: $48,070.33 - $74,989.71 (Grade 327C) This position is subject to pre-employment screenings. Salary : $48,070 - $74,990
