POSITION SUMMARY :
This position provides outreach support direct to Industrial sites on behalf of IRG Physical & Hand Therapy. Provides coverage to IRG contracts as needed and directed by Athletic Training Manager.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
In addition to the duties outlined in the position summary above, the following duties are the responsibility of the Industrial Athlete ATC :
Evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries, advancing treatment for industrial employees based on license and experience of ATCPrescribe and carry out rehabilitation programs for all employeesIncluding strength and conditioning management as neededSupervision and collaboration of all medical related / facility related procedures at contracted siteFollow & execute concussion policies, procedures, and requestsMaintain appropriate athletic injury records per OSHA guidelines and act as medical consultantAct as the medical liaison between employees, stake holders, and designated medical staff at contracted site.Demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of equipmentPerform prevention assessment as lead medical on sitePerform treatment and reconditioning of all employees in carePerform early evaluation, triage, CPR / First Aid and AED servicesAttend safety meetings as the lead on medical care for facilityCarry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations from the patient's physician.Provide referrals to specific physicians and other IRG and allied health professionals including, but not limited to physical therapy, sports nutrition, sports performance, and massage therapyWork in conjunction with nutrition, wellness, physical therapy, and team physicians to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, preventative programs and conditioning programs customized to meet individual needs where applicableAssist with staff and physician liaisons, including the development and implementation of policies in relation to the care of employees under IA Supervisors direction or Athletic Training Manager.Compile injury and treatment statistics for contracted sitesMaintain HIPAA compliance at contracted sitesMaintain Athletic Training Certification and State Licensure by attending educational courses as outlined by the National Athletic Training AssociationAct as an IRG Brand Ambassador in all community related eventsReports findings and KPI to appropriate stake holders, and maintains regular benchmarksREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in athletic training, exercise science, or related field with concentration in athletic training.Licensed in Washington state or eligible for licensure in Washington State.Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)One to three years in the field of athletic training with one year of Industrial experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree in athletic trainingCertified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or interest in becoming a CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)Ergonomics certification or interest in becoming certifiedREQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skillsExcellent organizational skills and detail orientedAbility to work with electronic medical record keeping systems and other computer databasesCapability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and multitaskBe an active, collaborative team memberAbility to work weekends, nights, and nontraditional work hours.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS :
