What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist - Casual position at IRMC?
Position Summary: Following established procedures performs and/or assists in ultrasound examinations as ordered by the physician. Is able to assess and provide appropriate treatment for all patients from neonate through adult.
Skills required: Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to interact courteously and effectively with patients, families, visitors and hospital personnel. Ability to deal with stressful workload.
Minimum Education Required: Must have successfully completed an approved school of radiologic technology or ultrasonography.
Minimum Experience Required: Two years as a general Radiologic Technologist or graduate of an approved school Sonography.
Licensure/Certification Required: Must be registered (or registry eligible) by the ARRT in Sonography and/or ARDMS. Registry eligible techs must obtain registry within one year of employment. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire).
