What does a Technical Writer do?
As a full-time Technical Writer at IRMI, you will take on the challenge of converting, structuring, and organizing raw content into XML-based modules that prioritize our high standards of reusability and consistency. Using OxygenXML, you will edit and maintain structured content, preparing it for multi-channel publishing. Teamwork across multiple disciplines is key, since you will work closely with subject matter experts, editors, and stakeholders to refine content. Your sharp eye for detail will allow you to perform quality checks, ensuring that our structured content adheres to DITA principles and IRMI's style and standards.
Troubleshooting XML or publishing issues? No problem! You will stay ahead of the curve by keeping updated on the latest best practices in structured authoring, DITA, and CCMS functionalities, along with other exciting duties as assigned!
Are you the Technical Writer we are searching for?
To be successful in this role, you will need a mix of creativity, technical ability, and problem-solving skills. A bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of the two is essential to join the team. Familiarity with DITA principles and structured authoring is crucial to help you to hit the ground running in our systems. If you have hands-on experience writing in XML and / or working in a CMS (or a CCMS), you will shine even brighter. Your analytical mindset will allow you to troubleshoot XML or publishing issues on the fly.
