What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Detailer position at Iron Asylum?
Job Summary
You will be making detail parts for structural steel pieces and stairs. Usually consists of angle iron clips with holes, shaped plates with holes, blank plates, plate squares with holes and the like. You will be using a stationary saw and ironworker/shear and punch to make the pieces and parts called out on our shop drawings.
Responsibilities
- Use a tape measure and saw to cut material to size and length.
- Use a tape measure and shear to cut plate to size.
- Use a tape measure to lay out a hole pattern on required pieces.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Keep material you cut neat and tidy.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and interpret shop drawings.
- Three years of experience in a shop environment and with heavy equipment, in particular a standing saw and punch and shear.
- Math skills must be up to par.
- Read and use a tape measure.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted, team lift items 90lbs or more.
